As a little teaser to the 2018 haunt season, FEAR tried something new this year! A little traveling circus called “Paranormal Cirque” was on the agenda for our spooky evening. The event was a pop up circus tent in the middle of the Neshaminy mall parking lot. We arrived 30 minutes early and the line was already built up a decent amount. Despite the long line it moved quickly. As the location is different every time I won’t focus too much on the details of parking, etc.

They had two tickets booths on the premises so you could purchase tickets on location. We purchased ours off of Groupon, so we did not have to wait on that line. Regardless it was a short wait for tickets! There were a few queue line actors walking around to add to the spook factor. The outside of the tent was decorated very nicely with macabre props. My favorite would have to be the hanging skeletons which you could see immediately upon walking up to the circus tent. As we walked through the gate and made our way into the tent, we saw a few vendors selling merchandise, offering face painting, and a few food trucks! All will be provided in the picture section of my review. We did not eat anything so I can’t provide the quality of the food.

Porta potty’s were present on the premise, 8 total. 4 men, 4 women and both included 1 handicapped option! All were very clean and well kept, with hand sanitizer available for use.

Next we walked further inside, to a little area they decorated like a haunted house. It was Very low key, but Tastefully done. They threw in an actor with a chainsaw to up the scare factor! This room led into a dark hallway which finally led into the area where we would be sitting for the performance.

The show started promptly at 9:30, as it was supposed to. It was split up into 2 halves which were about an hour long with a 15 min intermission. The first half of the show was a lot of goofy audience interaction. The performers were very skilled and put on a great show! During the brief intermission they offered a photo op with a few famous horror characters, which you had to pay for! The second half of the show was scarier, and much darker in my opinion. This is the half I preferred the most.

Overall, they did a good job! I had very high expectations for this event, as it intrigued me very much from what I saw online. Although, I was expecting more adult content, darker themes, and more gore. It was cute with a little twist of horror. Honestly, we enjoyed ourselves regardless! It was a very unique experience and I would recommend checking it out if given the opportunity! It is not for children, as there is adult humor and profanity and some sexual content!

I would rate our experience a 4/10 on the FEAR factor, and a 7/10 on the fun factor!
